Resume Writing Tips:

Avoid over thinking!  A resume is a document ABOUT YOU...that should be easy to write about!  The first place to start is simply writing out what you should include:

-     What type of work do you want?

-     Create a list of skills that you believe qualify you as an employee.

-     Write out your work history.  Include the company name, where it’s located, the dates you worked there, your job title and simple description of they work you performed.

-     Indicate the amount of education you have received.

-     At the bottom, feel free to include a list of hobbies you enjoy.

-     ALWAYS be prepared with references!  Your best references are past supervisors.  Letters of Recommendation are excellent to have and include with your resumes (make copies...you don’t ever give away your last one!).  Provide the supervisor’s full name and the phone number so they can be contacted

And finally, you’re more likely to get the job if you edit your resume so it’s relevant to the job for which you are applying.  This takes more work, but your effort will pay off when you GET THAT JOB!!!
